Product Categories

The Product Categories section allows you to view and/or modify product categories.

 

Note: You must have administrator privileges to perform any of these options.

The following table describes the major sections of the screen.

Field Description

[add product categories]

Allows you to add a product category.

Name

Allows you to view the name of the product category.

Products Assigned

Allows you to view the number of products assigned.

Sort Order

Allows you to sort the product categories.

Active

Displays whether the product category is active or not.

(edit)

Allows you to edit a product category.

 

Editing a Product Category

In order to edit a product category, perform the following steps:

 

  1. From the Product Category screen (Admin>Copy>Product Category), click the (edit) link on the product category you want to edit. The Edit Product Category Screen opens.

  1. Determine whether the product category should be a Sub-Category Of?. If the product category you want is not available, you will need to create it using the Adding a Product Category procedure below.

  2. Determine whether or not the product category should be active.

  3. Click the Update button. The Product Category is updated and the changes are saved.

 

Adding a Product Category

In order to add a product category, perform the following steps:

 

  1. From the Product Category screen (Admin>Copy>Product Category), click the [add product category]. The Add Product Category screen opens.

  1. Enter the Description of the product category.

  2. Determine whether the category should be a Sub-Category Of?.

  3. Click the Add button. The new product category has been saved and added.
