Suppose you are your company's asset manager, and you just acquired 4 new identical vehicles.  You need to add each one to your lightning database.  With the Copy Asset feature, you can get the first one set up exactly the way you want, and then select Copy to make three more duplicates.  Each one will require a unique name/Asset ID, but otherwise, will be identical (including similar PM schedules, parts lists, notes, attachments, or custom fields.

1. Open the Assets module
2. Select an existing asset from the list by clicking on it, or create & save a new asset
3. Once the asset record is open, click the Asset Details button 
    
4. Select the ellipsis at the top of the open Asset Details window
   
    
5. Select Copy
   
6. Enter the new Asset ID, and select which items should be copied from the original asset record
   
   
    
7. Select    Copy    or    Copy and Open    to finish
