Wireless Access Points are Added, Removed or Moved
Serraview Wi-Fi
If you are using Serraview's Wireless Location Service, the modification of Wireless Access Points on the floor will need to be added into the Serraview product. The physical network address of each Wireless Access Point (The BSSID) and its location on the floor are necessary for WLS to calculate user's positioning.
Third-party Wi-Fi
For third-party wireless solutions, Serraview consumes data directly from the Wireless provider. No changes will need to be made in Serraview if the third-party solution is kept up-to-date.
Impact on Service
Users on wireless may not show up on a floor in Locator, or their estimated position may be far away from their actual location in Locator. Utilization reporting may not capture the user's presence on a floor when on wireless.
