Supported Languages in Hummingbird - 2022 May

Hummingbird will now automatically apply the related language to its experience if a user sets their device to a specific dialect. For example, if a user lives in Canada and speaks Canadian French (a dialect which is not currently supported), the Hummingbird app will automatically deliver its content in French (Metropolitan) rather than defaulting to English (US).

This enhancement creates a better experience for users that speak a dialect that is not currently supported natively within the Hummingbird App. It also gives admins greater ability to support their distributed workforce by providing tools closer to their primary or native language.

The dialects that will redirect to their related language include:

  • Spanish dialects → Spanish (ES)
  • French dialects → French (FR)
  • Portuguese dialects → Portuguese (BR)
  • Chinese dialects → Chinese (CN)

The following supported languages do not have related dialects, so the user must use a supported language or default to English (US).

  • Czech (Czech Republic)
  • German (Germany)
  • Japanese (Japan - Standard)
  • Russian (Russia)
  • Swedish (Sweden)

This change is available to all Hummingbird customers. Users will need to update the Hummingbird App on their device to the latest version using the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.  Learn how to set the default language , see Set the Default Language in Hummingbird App.
