Viewing an Asset

The Asset Inventory Items screen is used to view your assets. Using the Search Type section on this screen, you can easily locate an asset using the Field Search or Live Search option.

Note: Building names, center names, and asset types are defined during initial configuration. Unassigned assets are listed in the "Unassigned" category.

Use the following procedure to locate and view a specific asset:

  1. Access the Asset Inventory Items screen by selecting Asset → Inventory from the Sidebar menu. The Asset Inventory Items screen displays.

  2.  Use the drop-down menus in the upper-right corner of the screen to select the center/building where the asset is located and the asset type (copiers, fax machines, printers, etc.).

    Note: If you are searching for an unassigned asset, select the Unassigned option in the center/building drop-down menu.

  3. Enter search criteria in the Search Type section.

    You can locate assets using the following methods:

  • Field Search. Select this option to locate assets based on a particular field. For example, to search for assets in the building or center made by Apple, select the Manufacturer option in the Field Search drop-down menu, enter Apple in the Contains field, and click the Search button. Results matching the entered criteria display in the Results section.

  • Live Search. Select this option to locate assets using the Live Search feature. information about the asset and Live Search will return matching results. As you type, matching results display in the Live Search results.

  1. To view asset details, perform one of the following actions:

  • If the Field Search option is used, click the arrow to the left of an asset to view additional asset details directly on the screen.

    Click the Edit button corresponding to the asset. Asset information displays on the Edit Asset screen.
  • If the Live Search option is used, click an asset directly in the list of Live Search results. Asset information displays on the Edit Asset screen.
