Checking Out Mail Items

The Check Out screen in the Mail module is used to check out mail items as the items are transferred from the mail center to an outbound courier, such as UPS or FedEx. Use the following procedure to check a mail item out using this screen.

  1. Access the Check Out screen by selecting Mail → Check Out from the Sidebar menu. The Check Out screen displays.
  2. Verify the appropriate mail center is selected in the Center field drop-down at the top-right corner of the screen.

    If the Center must be changed, click the Center field drop-down and select the appropriate center from the displayed list. Click the unlabeled Tracking Number field prior to scanning or entering the first tracking number.

  3. Scan the package barcode or enter the tracking number manually in the Tracking Number field.
  4. Press the TAB key to check the mail item out or use a corded or cordless barcode scanner. The Check Out button can be clicked to check out the package.

A confirmation message displays, and the date and time of the checkout are registered. The item is now ready to be transferred to the outbound courier.
